Proven field performance


LG and other companies, including consumer organisation Choice with the help of the CSIRO have been involved in a number of comparison tests of the LG modules against many other brand panels. 

LG NeON 2 & NeON R panels are consistently one of the highest performing panels in these tests. 

In the Choice test conducted between October 2015 and February 2016 the LG NeON 300W won against 14 competitors as the highest output per watt panel.

Lower degradation than standard


Over time solar panels lose production capacity. LG has reduced the initial degradation of our NeON panel range by applying our new LiLy (Light Induced Degradation] Improvement for Lifetime

Yield) Technology, which controls the reaction of Boron and Oxygen, a key factor in light induced degradation (LID). 

The NeON 2 also has very low Light Induced degradation, due to the use of N type treatment of the cells which uses Phosphorous as a replacement for Boron. 


Less reduction of electricity production capacity than conventional panels as the panel ages.

Improved High Temperature Performance


Solar panels slowly lose ability to generate power with increase in temperature. 

LG NeON 2 and NeON R have one of the best temperature performance characteristics, which means even in very high temperatures our panels will deliver higher output than most standard panels.


Better performance on hot days than most conventional panels means more power generates to use to run air-conditioning, pool pumps and fans for example.

LG warranty - class leading - now 25 years Product Warranty


LG Electronics Inc announced  in December 2017 the commencement of one of the strongest and lengthy product warranties in the solar industry worldwide. From 1st of January 2018 LG solar panel installations in Australia and New Zealand will now be covered with a 25 year Product Warranty. 

LG’s National Sales Manager of solar in Australia Markus Lambert said:” LG Mono X Plus and NeON 2 solar panels already enjoy one of the stronger warranties in the industry currently with a 12 year product warranty period. It is a sign of the complete confidence LG Electronics have in the excellent built quality of our panels, that we will offer an additional three years product warranty starting on January 1, 2018, for any fifth generation (Mono X Plus and NeON 2 with A5 suffix code) panels installed after that date. 

This brings the new Product Warranty for MonoX, NeON 2 & NeON 2 Black to 25 Years. And Neon - R series to 25 years
